Order Process

Instant Quotes

Upload your file in STL format.

You will receive an email confirmation after completing your quote request.

Manufacturability

When we receive your File from a Manual or Instant quote, we will analyze the file to check for Manufacturability. If there are any issues with the file we will contact you and we will attempt to correct the file at not cost to you.

Lead Times

Lead time will commence when we have received Full Payment or for Purchase Order Customers from the time you submit your quote.

Manufacturing

Once we have received payment we will schedule your order for manufacturing. In the majority of cases we are able to ship at the shorter lead time indicated for the selected Service. ie. Most Express Service Orders will ship in 2 business days, Most Regular Service Orders will ship in 4 business days.  Economy orders will ship in 8-14 days.

Shipping

All orders are shipped in a protected box by overnight courier.

Instant Quotes
Manufacturability

When we receive your Instant Quote request. We perform extensive quality control checks to ensure the part can be manufactured.

Finishing Options
Depending on the finishing option selected. This may add time to the manufacturing process. The Lead Times in the Instant Quote module does not reflect the extra time  that may be required for the finishing process selected beyond the basic finish.
 
Large Parts
If you are quoting a Large Part;  the Instant Quote module does not reflect the extra build time that may be required for large print jobs.
 
Delivery 

The delivery costs are estimated and can change depending on the whole value of the order. 

Software
The Instant Quote Module is powered by a software sales technology provided by Printelize.  We make every effort to ensure pricing on Instant Quotes are accurate; due to the complex nature of 3D Printing, we do reserve the right to adjust pricing after reviewing the manufacturability of your part.

Resolution

Our Express, Standard & Economy Services for SLA, SLS & FDM Models are printed at High Resolution 100 μm layer thicknesses. MJP we offer High Resolution 51 μm and Ultra High Resolution 25 μm layer thicknesses.

If you require prints in lower or higher resolution we are happy to accommodate this. Please complete a manual quote, detailing your requirements.

Accuracy

Accuracy

SLA: The tolerances for well-designed parts are in the X / Y direction ± 0.020in (± 0.5 mm) plus an additional 0.4%;In Z direction ± 0.020in (0.5 mm) plus an additional 0.4%;       

SLS: The tolerances for well-designed parts are in the X / Y direction ± 0.76mm plus an additional ± 0.5%; In Z direction ±  0.76mm plus an additional ± 0.5%;                 

FDM: The tolerances for well-designed parts are in the X / Y direction ± 0.76 mm plus an additional ± 0.5% ; In Z direction ± 0.76mm plus an additional ± 0.5%.

MJP: The tolerances for well-designed parts are in the X / Y direction ± 0.5 mm plus an additional 0.4%;  In Z direction ± 0.5 mm plus an additional 0.4%;             

We tend to do better than the numbers listed.

Rapid Prototypes niche in the market is manufacturing very large high quality large models We have invested in the best and largest systems available to enable you to print the Largest Print Jobs in high quality.

Stereolithography

Maximum Build: 1500 x 750 x 550 mm on an IPro 9000.

Selective Laser Sintering:

Maximum Build: 380 x 330 x 380 mm on a sPRO HD-SD.

Multi Jet Printing

Maximum Build:  635 x 300 x 300 mm on a ProJet 5500.

Fused Deposition Modeling

Maximum Build: 914.4 x 609.6 x 914.4 mm on a Fortus 900mc.

We quote and invoice in Pounds (GBP) and Euros (EUR).

Payments

Payments

Payment must be made in full prior to printing. We accept major Credit Cards, PayPal and Electronic Bank Transfers (BACS).

Purchase Orders

Upon prior approval from Rapid Prototypes Ltd. we will accept Purchase Orders. Payments by Credit Card, Cheque, or Electronic Funds Transfer (BACS) are accepted on Purchase Orders.

UK Delivery

The minimum order cost is £40.00 plus £12.00 shipping.  Parcels ship by overnight courier.

European Delivery

The minimum order cost is €75.00 plus applicable shipping.  Parcels ship by overnight courier.

An order may be comprised of a number of parts.

Please note lead times are not guaranteed. In most circumstances we will normally ship your parts in the shorter lead time indicated in the Service Level.  ie. Most Express Service Orders will ship in 2 business days, most Regular Service Orders will ship in 4 business days. Economy Orders will ship in 8-14 days.

In some circumstances, in order for us to fulfill materials requirements, or to balance loads between our facilities; parts may also be manufactured in our Toronto or Iowa locations.  If these circumstances, your order will ship by Overnight  Courier and  Standard Intra UK shipping rates will apply.

Cancellation of Orders

Due to the nature of Rapid Prototyping & 3D Printing Services, you cannot cancel your order after it goes into production.

In the unusual even there is a major technical issue at one of our production facilities. We reserve the right to cancel your order, we will contact you in these circumstances and provide you a full refund.

We are not liable for any damage or cost caused by us cancelling your order.

Non Disclosure Agreement

As standard practice, from first contact we treat all projects as confidential and no client or project information is discussed or shared with a third party unless permission has been given. Rapid Prototypes Ltd. is willing to sign any additional non-disclosure agreement that you may require to start a project with us.
